History

UAB SK Impeks Medicinos diagnostikos centras (hereinafter – Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Centre or the Centre) was founded in 1995 following the latest North American and Western European model of private clinics.

The Centre has been among the pioneers of private medical practice in Lithuania.

When the Centre was opened in 1995, physicians representing 20 medical specialties consulted and treated patients, while the Centre carried out about 200 types of laboratory tests.

In the same year, Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Centre was the first in Lithuania to acquire computed tomography, which for quite a while served in generating tomograms for the residents all over Lithuania.

In 2005, the Centre celebrated its ten-year anniversary by opening a new block containing a modern Surgery Centre with in-patient and day units of surgery, anaesthesiology, emergency and intensive care, three operating theatres containing state-of-the-art equipment, an emergency room and patient wards.

The new block also houses allergology, dietology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, ophthalmology, orthopaedics-traumatology and radiology centres, as well as consulting and diagnostic-examination rooms for physicians.

Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Centre was one of the first Lithuanian health care institution to introduce an integrated quality and environment management system and to be awarded for high quality service provision by the internationally acclaimed organisation Bureau Veritas Quality International with two ISO certificates: ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004.

Today, we have a team of over 150 highly qualified healthcare professionals, whose practice covers 53 fields of medicine, including over 40 honorary PhDs, professors, medical doctors, and associated professors renowned not only in Lithuania but also abroad.

Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Centre privately offers the widest range of health care services in Lithuania.

The Centre offers over 1,100 different health care, prevention, diagnostic and therapeutic and surgery services to its patients. Some of them can only be provided in our Centre in Lithuania. Five laboratories carry out over 400 different types of laboratory tests. Over 100 different types of operations can be carried out in the Surgery Centre. The range of available instrumental tests has also considerably expanded and now is headed by the most modern and especially powerful (1.5 T) nuclear magnetic resonance tomography.

The Centre purchases medical and laboratory equipment, medical surgery tools and facilities from the most reliable global suppliers known for the highest quality: Siemens, General Eletric, Olympus, Karl Storz, Alcon, Roche, etc.

Over 200 Lithuanian health care institutions use the services of the Centre. The Centre cooperates with a number of Lithuanian and foreign health and life insurance companies.

Over 50,000 Lithuanian and foreign patients restore their health and recreate in our Centre annually. Every second of them becomes our regular client.
