Various health improvement and treatment services are available at a modern Centre of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. During physiotherapy, patients are treated with natural and simulated nature factors (light, warmth, water, electricity). Physiotherapy is employed when treating diseases and traumas, rehabilitating organism. This way of treatment is an advantaged one since it always relaxes and comforts human body. Moreover, this way of treatment (in opposition to, e.g. tablets) has no negative effect on the internal organs.
The Centre offers the following services of rehabilitation, physical medicine and sports medicine:
Kinezitherapy heals with the help of movement and is applied in cases of many diseases, especially when treating the damage of motional apparatus, seeking to regain or compensate the function of movement, reduce the possibility of complications, support overall physical activity.
Electrotherapy is used when seeking to reduce aches in joints, muscles, or spine, increase muscular tone, peripheral circulation, soothe muscle spasms, regenerate damaged nerves, increase sensitivity of neurotic cells, reduce inflammatory process. Electrotherapy helps soothing cough and inflammation, caused by airway disease.
Ultrasound therapy is applied when contraction of inflammatory and non-inflammatory joint disease is present as well as after ligament strain and for treatment of ligament inflammation. It is also used after gynaecological, orthopaedic and other surgeries, since it accelerates the healing of scars and broken bones and soothes local inflammation process.
Laser therapy helps in cases of some internal diseases: arterial hypertension and peptic ulcers. It is highly effective when treating painful nervous system diseases. It contributes to treating ear, nose and throat diseases. Laser therapy accelerates healing of wounds, ulcers, scars and positively influences skin inflammation processes. This therapy also heals diseases of peripheral vessels and motional support apparatus. Laser treatment is used to heal mammary gland and sweat gland inflammations.
Magnetic field (Bemer) therapy is a way of treatment when human organism is affected by law frequency alternating magnetic field. It is applied in cases of disorder of peripheral circulation and osteoporosis; it accelerates healing of broken bones, reduces swelling after traumas, eases neuropathic pain, and activates immunity. It is widely applied when treating insufficiency of venous circulation, lymphostasis, neurological, skin and other diseases.
Microwave therapy is electromagnetic vibration of decimeter range. Decimeter waves penetrate into tissues (9-11 centimeters) and cause strong anti-inflammatory effect and, thus, reduce pain and spasms. Decimeter microwaves broaden vessels, stimulate central nervous system, and improve nutrition of tissues. Microwave therapy has a positive impact on treatment of sinusitis, ear inflammations, bronchitis, prostate inflammations, also joint, peripheral nervous system, ginaecological, urologic diseases.
Polarized light therapy Bioptron is used for treatment of many diseases: in physiotherapy (muscles strain, soft areas hematoma, ligaments inflammation, etc.), in surgery (complicated healing of wounds, frostbite, smoothing of scars). The therapy has an especially positive effect in treating skin injuries caused by infections or allergies, various kinds of vesicular diseases, acne, other skin inflammations, also ear, and nose diseases. It improves healing process after various bruises, joint inflammations, and ligaments strain. It is also applied in treating rheumatism-like pain of muscles and general rheumatism-like spine pain as well as arthritis.
Lymphatic drainage (Compressive therapy): alternating pressure is given over to the patient through a special sock or sleeve. It is applied to treat cellulite, swellings in extremities of various origins due to vessel insufficiency, also after surgeries or traumas. It heals lymphostsis of various origin, varicose veins, and fatigue of legs. This therapy is a useful means for thrombosis prevention. Compressive therapy reduces pressure to vein walls, improves venous circulation, increases pressure in tissues, and, thus, reduces swelling of tissues.
Needle therapy (acupuncture) is one of the oldest ways of treatment, elaborated in China. Aiming to reduce pain of various origin or soothe spasm, needles are stuck into certain points of the body. It calms nervous system, soothes allergy. Acupuncture improves quality of sleep, treats insomnia. If needed, acupuncture is applied alongside with antihomotoxic medicine that increases the effectiveness of treatment.
Remedial massage positively influences digestive, respiratory, nervous, and endocrine systems. It strengthens muscles tone, improves the state of joints, ameliorates posture, and activates mobility. Massage accelerates circulation of blood and lymph. Massage increases immunity, helps gaining physical and spiritual balance.
Inhalations of medicine stand for transmissions of medicine to airway through a special apparatus. This kind of treatment eases cough, soothes airway spasms, has an anti-inflammation effect on epithelium of airways and bronchus.
Inhalations of salt, i.e. dry, high density salt aerosol inhalations are applied for the ill with airway diseases. The dry salt aerosols normalize mucous membrane of bronchus, improves cough, soothe bronchus spasms, and allergic reactions. Salt inhalations are applied when treating both chronic and acute airway diseases.
Paraffin wax applications are appropriate when warmth is to be indicated. It stimulates circulation, relaxes muscles, decreases hardness and spasms of muscles. The applications are used when treating joint inflammations, post-traumatic contracture (partial immobility).
Manual therapy is a way of manual treatment that recreates the correct biomechanics (physiological state) of the whole joint(-s) or vertebra manually and restores freedom of movements. Movement is a powerful biological stimulant that becomes a healing one if applied purposefully, measured, adapted to individual state of the patient and his/her joint(-s) biomechanics.
