Endoscopic examinations, procedures
Endoscopy refers to looking at internal organs from inside of body while using a special instrument, called endoscope. During this examination, state of an organ or its mucous membrane is examined. If necessary, biopsy is taken; this is important while diagnosing cancerous diseases of the organs mentioned. During examinations, the performed therapeutic procedures are as follows: stop of bleeding, removal of polyps or foreign bodies, evaluation of Helicobacter pylori bacteria in stomach, ligation of haemorrhoid knots.

In compliance with the patient's state and his/her request, sedation (prescription of sedative medicine) can be applied during all the endoscopic examinations (except for rectoscopy). A doctor anesthesiologist-resuscitator supervises the course of examination and the patient experience nothing unpleasant.
