Electrocardiography (ECG) at stress and rest
Electrocardiography tests can be:
- rest electrocardiography (ECG) – a n examination design to diagnose cardiovascular diseases. On the basis of recorded electrocardiogram different heart rhythm disorders and injuries of the heart conductivity system as well as as ischemic changes (imminent myocardial infarction) can be diagnosed;
- Stress electrocardiogram (TST –) a treadmill stress test – the examination used to diagnose ischemic heart changes, capability to tolerate physical load, condition of myocardium, rhythm and conductivity disorders. Electrocardiogram is recorded during physical load, while a patient is walking on a treadmill.
These are painless and not dangerous examinations made in the office of cardiologist.
The duration of rest electrocardiogram (ECG) test is 5 –10 minutes. The duration of stress electrocardiogram (ECG) (TST – a treadmill stress test is 40 minutes
