Kinesiology taping is a rehabilitation technique during which the target muscles are surrounded/reinforced with kinesiology tape – an adhesive elastic tape. It helps to relax the hypodermis and promotes healing.
The method is based on the elastic properties of human muscle and skin. Kinesiology tape works through the skin and when selected and applied correctly, facilitates the natural healing mechanisms, i.e. reduces tension in the skin and pressure in the hypodermis, and relieves swelling, pain and promotes healing processes.
Kinesiology tape provides support and stability to the muscles and joints without restricting blood flow or range of motion.
Kinesiology taping benefits:
- Reduces pain;
- Stimulates circulation;
- Eliminates muscle fatigue;
- Normalises muscle tone.
The non-toxic tape is made of cotton, it is water resistant and can stay on the body from 1 to 5 days. The tape acts as a brace and can be applied to any part of the body (knee joint, ankle, muscle) for both adults and children.
Kinesiology taping is performed by our kinesiotherapists.
The duration of the procedure is 30 min.
No special preparation is required.
