Rheumatic diseases are diseases of the joints and associated tissues and are one of main causes of disability and early incapacity for work.

The most common diseases and illnesses: Rheumatoid arthritis , osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, spine osteochondrosis, spondylosis, fibromyalgia, ankylosing spondylitis (Bekhterev's disease), psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, gout, enteropathic arthropathies, infectious arthritis,  Sjögren's (dry syndrome), nodular erythema, systemic diseases of the connective tissues: systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis (sclerodermia), dermatomyositis, vasculites.

Treatment. In the Centre we diagnose and treat ALL rheumatic diseases in adults, provide consultations and advice on how to slow down the development of rheumatic diseases, how to prevent flare-ups and how to delay complications. For the treatment of rheumatic diseases we use medication, recommend rehabilitation procedures, administer specially prepared injections of the patient's blood with hyaluronic acid, pain blockers, and intra-articular injections.

We can usually diagnose the disease and prescribe the treatment on the same day.*

* In some cases further tests may be required to get a final diagnosis. In such cases you will be informed by the treating physician or medical staff responsible for the examination.

For the successful treatment of rheumatic diseases cooperation between the rheumatologist and an orthopaedist traumatologist, surgeons and physicians of physical medicine and rehabilitation are often required, in order to find the focus of the infection – with an otorhinolaryngologists, infectionists, neurologists, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, urologists, obstetricians-gynaecologists required.

Contact the rheumatologist, if:
  • you suffer from muscle or joint aches, swelling,
  • pain of the lower back,
  • you experience fever, joint stiffness,
  • different movement disorders,
  • recurring bone fractures, you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or other rheumatic disease,
  • you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or other rheumatic disease,
  • you have developed a small hump in your back,
  • your height has decreased,
  • you have lost strength in your arms and legs,
  • your fingers go white in cold and wet weather
  • eye inflammations recur,
  • you suffer from eye and mouth dryness; you develop a rash.

 If you have a family history of autoimmune rheumatic diseases, we recommend that you arrange prophylactic visits with a rheumatologist so as to allow early detection of the disease and initiation of treatment or prophylaxis.

The rheumatologist will first listen to your complaints, and then prescribe the necessary examinations and assess their results. After making a diagnosis the physician will discuss potential treatment methods, prescribe medication and other procedures with you.
