Biography

1984-1987 – medical doctor, Kaunas Medical Institute (now – Lithuanian University of Health Sciences).

1987-1990 – medical doctor, Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University.

1990-1994 – residency in general surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University.

2017 April-October – clinical secondary residency in body contouring with the analysis of body contour and subcutaneous fat, liposuction and autologous fat transfer, Saint Joseph Hospital, Chicago, USA.

2017 October – vaginal reconstruction (cystocele and rectocele repair, perineoplasty and labiaplasty), Saint Francis Hospital, USA.

·         breast radiology with ultrasound-guided needle biopsy;

·         laser application in surgery, its principles and safety technique;

·         hand-assisted laparoscopic bowel surgery;

·         automatic vascular anastomosis;

·         endoscopic blood vessel surgery with the Guidant system;

·         minimally invasive radial artery harvesting;

·         hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy.

Dr Manelis has been granted the instructor-teacher privilege to train others to work with Genzyme SaphLITE, the minimally invasive endoscopic venous surgical system. He introduced this system, as well as Guidant Vasoview and Terumo systems, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
